I paid for a copy of Applian's Replay Music that always did a great job. But when I bought a new computer I just couldn't make it work any more (something to do with Vista and the Gigabyte motherboard). In my search for a solution I found Freecorder (also by Applian) which works fine, and is free.

Freecorder's only real downside is that it doesn't seem to give you any option over the naming of the audio files it generates. This is only a problem if you are slow to archive/burn them before streamripping subsequent sessions.

The upside is that it works fine from a toolbar in Explorer, and it comes bundled with other useful bits and pieces. The sound quality can be as good as the streaming site provides (or lesser quality if space is short).

I agree with total recorder, I have had it for 10 years. Best money I ever spent.
